Local, by design.
Transfer over a shared Wi-Fi or hotspot. File transfer does not need internet access.
Offline file sharing, from Android to the devices around you. A local network. A browser. No cloud upload.
Android sender · Browser receivers · Same local network
Transfer over a shared Wi-Fi or hotspot. File transfer does not need internet access.
Receive Android shares on a phone or computer, without installing a receiver app.
Share selected files, approve access and end the session when you are done.
From phone to computer, or to someone sitting next to you.
Open DropLAN on Android and select the files you want to share. Use Pro for folders and ZIP preparation.
Start a share. Join the same Wi-Fi or phone hotspot, then scan the receiving code or open its address.
Approve the connection on the sender. Select files in the receiving browser and confirm they are saved.
Add files or a folder on your computer. Keep originals, bundle a ZIP, or compress first. Then scan the code in DropLAN to browse and download.
Set up computer sendingRequires the local sender on your computer and DropLAN on Android. Both devices must be on the same reachable network.
File types shown for illustration. Your selected files appear in the sender.
The Android transfer engine streams file data. Transfers depend on available storage, the source and the receiving device; no universal size or speed is promised.
Nearby sharing is an optional device-dependent route. If a compatible nearby sender is unavailable, use the browser sharing flow.
DropLAN is an Android file-sharing app designed for local transfers. Send selected files to nearby devices over a shared Wi-Fi or hotspot; the receiving device can use an existing browser.
The local file-transfer flow does not need internet access. Devices still need a reachable local network. Downloading the app, optional Google sign-in, purchases, policy pages and release analytics may use the internet.
Browser receiving is designed for Windows, macOS and Linux, as well as Android, iPhone and iPad browsers. Join the same reachable network, open the receiving link and download. Cross-device compatibility and large-file behavior still require testing on your devices.
For shares sent from the Android app, browser receivers do not need an app or plugin. The computer-to-phone QR workflow on this website uses the local computer sender and the DropLAN Android app.
No. The desktop sender in this website is for the same reachable local network. Files are prepared on the computer, not uploaded to a cloud storage service. Keep the computer and local sender running during the transfer.
In the Android app, basic file selection, multi-file transfers and existing transfer protocols are free. Adding whole folders and ZIP packing/compression are Pro features. Current offers and prices are shown by Google Play in the app.
Check that neither device is using guest isolation or a VPN that blocks local traffic. Allow the local sender through your computer firewall on trusted private networks. If several network addresses appear, choose the one used by the shared Wi-Fi.
Not all combinations. Real-device Wi-Fi reachability, large-file saving and compatibility across all target browsers are not fully verified. A completed sender response is not proof that the receiver saved the file.
